Examples from the Recent Meta Ad Disruption
This blog is a collection of examples from members who were impacted by the recent Meta bug on April 23, 2023. Mostly these members experienced overspending and incorrect pacing. We’re working actively to try and provide a route for members who were impacted by this outage. We just asked members to share what they’d seen and how it had affected them.
Member Ex. #1:
“Overspent by 20% of daily budget with zero conversions.”
Member Ex. #2:
“Our account over spent by 25% with no conversions.”
Member Ex. #3:
“On a critical Mother’s Day weekend, 80% of spend with the worst results across multiple accounts. Super high CPMs, almost zero campaigns across the board.”

Member Ex. #5:
“Horrible results for every account managed, spent it's entire daily budget + 10-20% before noon pacific time - all US based accounts. 2 clients considering dropping FB entirely - tried to get a refund but didn’t grant because “it didn't overspend for the day”. Other client is running a big sale and generally their mornings aren't as good as their afternoons and evenings.”
Member Ex. #6:
“Overspent the daily budget by 40% at 2x bid cap target.”
Member Ex. #7:
“In this client, 95% of their entire daily budget was spent by 11am PST. In another example with one of our smallest accounts, we had not overspent our budget by the time we caught it, but you can clearly see the amount spent is significantly higher especially in the early morning hours.”
Member Ex. #6:
“Caught it early enough, turned off accounts by 10am but still, not an effective spend.”
Member Ex. #7:
“All budget was spent by 4pm BST - CPMs up by 120-200% but only affected ASC and Conversions campaigns. Turned campaigns off at 8pm missing out on Sunday night sales.”
Member Ex. #8:
“Spent entire budget by 10am PST and delivered the below results to us
Impacted ASC, Automatic Placements, IG only Campaigns”
